I've got a brand new vCenter 5.5 server with about 10 hosts connected so far. Some are running 5.5, some are running 5.0.x, but all are experiencing the same issue. When we go to the Hardware Status tab on one of the hosts, the Updated timestamp is whenever someone last manually polled the hardware health, which means if there is a hardware issue, someone will have to manually check to see problems instead of real-time polling behind the scenes. I know this was an issue with 4.x, and there was a KB to resolve VMware KB: vCenter Server Hardware Status tab does not refresh automatically, but that doesn't seem to apply here. VM support suggested I try this, but doing a comparison between the existing and new files, they are the exact same.
I'd really like to get this resolved so the hosts are reporting their hardware health in on a regular basis. We're using OME and other tools, but this is an important part of our monitoring plan.
