Virtual machine disks consolodation is needed.

Hello,

I'm having an issue with one of the VMs in my environment.  It was hung on reset at 95% and wasn't moving.  I ran ssh'd into the host the VM was running on and did a services.sh restart.  Once the server came back up the VM was powered off.  I removed the VM from inventory and attempted to move it back in.  I believed this was because the disk files were locked because the .lck file was present.  I created a backup directory and moved all unnceccsary files into that including *.log files, *.vswp, and the .lck file.

I re-added the VM back into inventory successfully and attempted to boot which failed.  I suspected this was an issue with un-merged snapshots, so I took a snapshot and then used the delete all snapshots option in order to merge them  all back in.  This completed successfully, however now when I attempt to boot the VM I receive the error:

Virtual machine disks consoladation is needed.

I have attemped to right click the VM --> snapshot --> consolodate.  This fails with the error that it is is unable to access file since it is locked, however this does not fix the problem and I am still unable to boot.

What can I try next?

Thanks.
