renaming VM in vCenter5.5

I have been told that in vCenter5.5 that if we rename a VM that the associated files in the DataStore are automatically renamed, as well, if we reboot the server after renaming the VM.  is that correct?   In versions prior to 5.x we had to do a storage vmotion to do that and with version 5.0 and 5.1 even the storage vmotion no longer worked.  

I was told previously that 5.5 "restored" the ability to rename the VM files with storage vmotion but if that was even fixed to allow a simple renaming and reboot then JOILA...that would be great.
